Switzerland’s cooperation with Israel gained momentum since Israel’s accession to EUREKA in 2000. To carry out joint innovation projects, since 2018 Innosuisse has been cooperating with the Israel Innovation Authority (IIA) within the framework of a declaration of intent.
The objective of this agreement is to encourage collaboration between Swiss and Israeli companies and research organisations to promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise, to establish sustainable partnerships and to increase business development opportunities. This enables companies to expand their competitive advantage by developing new products, improving technical processes or devising solutions. These innovations must offer added value for the economy, society or the environment.
Support for Swiss-Israeli innovation projects
Innosuisse and the IIA support cooperation in technological and science-based innovation between companies, research institutes and other entities from Switzerland and Israel. Swiss-Israeli innovation projects are promoted within the framework of annual bilateral calls for projects and the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) for partner matchmaking.
The calls for proposals, the evaluation of funding applications and reporting for Swiss-Israeli joint projects are coordinated by both sides. In addition, the two agencies promote and support activities that enable Swiss and Israeli startups to access growth opportunities in each other’s countries.
Duration of the agreement
This agreement will remain in force until it is terminated by Innosuisse or the IIA. Any termination will not affect the validity or duration of any ongoing projects or activities.
