Bilateral projects with Canada

Switzerland and Canada have signed the Science, Technology & Innovation (STI) joint statement in 2018 to strengthen bilateral cooperation. In recognition of this STI joint statement, Innosuisse cooperates with the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) to support bilateral innovation projects.

The objective of this agreement is to encourage collaboration between Swiss and Canadian companies and research organisations to promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise, to establish sustainable partnerships and to increase business development opportunities. This enables companies to expand their competitive advantage by developing new products, improving technical processes or devising solutions. These innovations must offer added value for the economy, society or the environment.

Support for Swiss-Canadian innovation projects

The agreement allows Innosuisse and NRC-IRAP to intensify the existing cooperation in the fields of technology and innovation. Swiss-Canadian partnerships for research and development (R&D) projects conducted by companies and research organisations are created within the framework of EUREKA as well as the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) for partner matchmaking.

Duration of the agreement

This agreement is open-ended and will remain in force until one party terminates it. Any termination will not affect the validity or duration of any ongoing projects or activities.
