Algorithm optimises solar plants in Brazil and Switizerland

Artificial intelligence can make solar installations more efficient as well as more reliable. This is demonstrated by an international innovation project involving an intelligent algorithm that simplifies the maintenance and optimisation of photovoltaics.

Project DIANA - Artificial intelligence in the service of geriatrics

«AI has the potential to relieve the burden on carers and maintain the autonomy of older people.» This potential was the focus of the project DIANA, which the Geriatrische Klinik St. Gallen was involved in. The goal: to develop an AI-supported assistant for geriatric medicine.

Oxyle - Dissolving micropollutants into thin air

“We want to bring the purification process as close as possible to the point of production and treat the entire water cycle on site.”

Swissphone Wireless - Enhanced alarm system for lone workers

Guarantee the safety of lone workers thanks to an ultra-reliable communication system. This is the goal of a project led by Zurich-based company Swissphone Wireless AG in collaboration with the German Frauenhofer research institute.

ECSEL: Charging electric vehicles more efficiently

In the European cooperation project Power2Power, which runs until May 2022, 43 partners from eight countries are jointly conducting research and developing innovative power semiconductors with higher power density and energy efficiency. Power semiconductors are required at all stages of energy conversion: in generation, transmission and use.
