Supplementary expert elections for Innosuisse

Innosuisse relies on experts to quickly and effectively assess submitted funding applications and provide expert support for the funded projects. Are you interested in using your expertise to benefit the promotion of innovation in Switzerland? Then submit your application by 16 February 2018.

The Innosuisse Innovation Council has decided to put forward for election more experts to the Board of Directors. The aim is to build on the existing expertise in the current pool of experts and ensure sufficient capacity for the seamless and quick evaluation of funding applications and sufficient support for the funded projects. The personal and specialist requirements to be fulfilled by the applications are set out in the Election regulations for experts (German) (PDF, 110 kB, 26.01.2018). When selecting experts, Innosuisse also strives for an equal representation of genders and language communities.

The experts work for Innosuisse under a public mandate. Their remuneration is governed in Innosuisse’s Remuneration Ordinance. So-called individual flat-rate payments shall apply. As a general principle, assignments up to a maximum workload of 20% of a full-time equivalent position and an annual remuneration of CHF 30,000 are possible. The assignment tends to be closer to 10% but it depends on both the number of applications received and the individual availability of the experts. Innosuisse’s Remuneration Ordinance also governs the other contractual conditions. The Innosuisse Act also requires experts to declare their vested interests. Further information can be found in the vested interests declaration form (DOC, 30 kB, 26.01.2018). Finally, the experts are bound to professional secrecy by law.

The experts are expected to be elected until the end of 2020 and will assume their role on 1 May 2018, provided that the election procedure can be implemented and concluded according to plan.
