Innosuisse has elected its experts. The term of office of the people currently in office ends on 31 December 2020. The majority of the experts have been hired for the period 2021-2024.

From the 600 applications received, the Innosuisse Innovation Council selected a total of 174 experts who were elected by the Board of Directors. Among them, 59 are new additions and 25% are women. In addition, 64% of the experts come from the industrial sector, while 36% work in research.

Experts assist the Innovation Council in examining applications for funding and in overseeing projects. It is their job to approveor reject applications for innovation projects.

The appointed individuals cover all the areas of expertise required by Innosuisse, namely “Information and Communication Technologies” (ICT), “Energy & Environment” (E&E), “Engineering” (ENG), “Social Sciences & Business Management” (SSBM) and “Life Sciences” (LS). The German-, French- and Italian-speaking regions account for 65%, 28% and 5% respectively. 2% of the experts live abroad.

It should be noted that due to COVID-19 and the extension of the SCCER programme, the mandate of all SCCER experts will be extended until the end of 2021.
